Congratulations you've been upgraded, no just kidding

A marketing fail by Virgin Blue in my email.

First I got an email congratulating me for being upgraded to gold status despite being slightly short of the requirement.

Then later another email from Velocity Rewards (the frequent flyer program of Virgin Blue) saying, oops you weren't meant to get that email.

I also like how they sent it to everyone on their list, not just those that had signed up to receive stuff. Top work Virgin, very impressed:

"We also note that you have elected to opt out of Velocity Communications. Please accept our sincere apologies for sending these emails to you without your consent. Unfortunately the email was extended to our entire database by mistake."
