Star Alliance Gold Plus
The majority of Star Alliance frequent flyer programs (FFPs), including all the main ones, have more than one elite status level that is Star Alliance Gold. Oneworld has 3 elite status tiers across the alliance (although some programs do not have every alliance tier represented), so I'm not sure why Star Alliance couldn't also introduce an extra tier with additional benefits over Star Alliance Gold.

I've had similar thoughts.
For some of the *A FF programmes, there are huge numbers of Gold members already. So more differentiation between flyers would be helpful (rather like the difference between A and A* in the UK's national 6th Form examination scheme).
I'd suggest only one modification:
It would be ideal for *A to move to a (Bronze, Silver, Gold) scheme, where the current Gold becomes Silver, Silver becomes Bronze, and your "Gold+" becomes Gold. People will relate to this scheme better than Silver, Gold, Gold+, IMHO.
As part of this change, the current Star Alliance Gold lounges probably should become Star Alliance Silver lounges -- thereby serving the same set of *A travellers as today.

Clearly you aren't in marketing. Silver would be seen as a devaluation from Gold even if benefits remain exactly the same.
